Kedarnath Yatra 2018
Kedarnath is located in Garhwal Himalayas, at an height of 3584 m above sea level on the banks of river Mandakini. Kedarnath has been in existence from the Mahabharata era when the Pandavas were supposed to please Lord Shiva by doing expiation. It has 200 Shrines of Lord Shiva. The temple was revived by the great Hindu philosopher, Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century CE.There are two ways to reach Kedarnath, one of them is via foot for a steep 14 km trek through a paved path from Gaurikund and the other is by helicopter service. One can take horses or ponies to climb the steep path.
